In the movie "Three Kings" the Gulf War has just ended and USA has signed a ceasefire. This movies is about a few US soldiers coming across a map of Saddam Hussein's gold. This map was found stuck between the butt-cheeks of a captured soldier. The original plan was to find the stash and split the spoils. They had a fool proof plan which got a lot more complicated when they run into an Iraqi civilian population right where the gold was located. These civilians gave the men a different perspective on the war. Troy, one of the soldiers, gets captured. They save a group of Iraqi prisoners, including several rebel leaders, this begins their own private conflict between the Iraqi army and themselves. They get help from Iraqi rebels who sell them cars, bought with the gold they stole. Through all this Troy is being tortured. He is forced to drink oil. The soldiers come back to find Troy with a damaged lung. The soldiers give the prisoners a bar of gold each and help them try to cross to the Iranian border. The American army intervenes with the whole plan and arrests the soldiers. The soldiers offer the gold to the army in return for the refugees receive a safe passage. The soldiers were cleared of all their charges, the stolen gold was returned to Kuwait.
